General terms and conditions for payment

Effective Date: 10 February 2025

These Payment Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the payments for services/products provided by ESELS to the client.

ESELS is a foundation, aiming to convene European scholars in Empirical Legal Studies. It falls under Dutch law, has been declared tax exempt by the Dutch tax authorities. It is registered under number 89533836 with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce.

Services

ESELS currently provides the following services to purchase:

-Conference attendance

-Conference dinner

-Pre-conference workshops

-ESELS yearly membership

By making any payment to ESELS, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

Payment Methods 

We accept as payment methods bank transfers

Payment Due Date

All payments are due as per the agreed upon invoice terms. Unless otherwise specified, payments must be made within 14 days from the date of invoice. ESELS reserves the right to suspend or terminate services/products until full payment is received.

Currency

All payments must be made in EUR.

Refunds

Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed upon beforehand in writing. If applicable, any refund requests must be submitted in accordance with the ESELS refund policy.

Taxes

ESELS is tax-exempt. All prices listed are exclusive of taxes. The Client is responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or fees imposed by any other than the Dutch governmental authority.

Disputes

In the event of a payment dispute, the Client must notify ESELS within 14 days of receiving the invoice. ESELS will work to resolve any disputes promptly. However, failure to resolve disputes will not relieve the Client of the obligation to make timely payment.

Payment Authorization

By making a payment, the Client authorizes ESELS to charge the specified amount to the Client’s chosen payment method.

Cancellation of Services

Failure to make full payment within the specified time period may result in the cancellation of the services/products provided by ESELS, and no further work or delivery will be performed.

Amendments to Payment

ESELS reserves the right to modify these Payment Terms and Conditions at any time. Any amendments will be communicated to the Client pending any payment, and continued use of services/products constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Payment Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands
